At South Sound Church, we believe that water baptism is an important step in the Christian journey. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment; a public declaration of our faith and our identification with Jesus Christ.

When we are baptized, we are identifying with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. As we go under the water, we are symbolically dying to our old selves and our old way of life. When we come up out of the water, we are symbolically rising to new life in Christ.

Baptism is also an opportunity to be obedient to Christ's command. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

When we are baptized, we are following Jesus' example and obeying His command.

At South Sound Church, we offer water baptism to anyone who has made a commitment to Christ and is ready to take this next step in their faith journey.

If you are interested in being baptized, we encourage you to speak with one of our pastors or leaders. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have and help you prepare for this important and meaningful experience.
